At Stanford
Working as part of a small three-person team, my operational role was broad and encompassed almost every aspect of our experiment. I designed and built the instrument we used to measure accelerations. I used CAD and modeling software to design our experiment. I also fabricated and assembled components. I was responsible for operating the experiment while we collect data. I spent a significant amount of time developing algorithms to analyze the data and converted our observations into a physically meaningful result. Once we had a result, I communicated that result to other physicists in the form of written papers and talks at academic conferences.
My favorite part of research is developing innovative ways to improve our measurements. I find it satisfying to build an instrument to solve a problem that has never been tackled before.
